Avenues for Hope

End-of-year Fundraising Campaign

Join us! With the approaching end of the year, Gateway Habitat for Humanity of Pocatello is participating in the annual Avenues for Hope fundraiser, December 12 - 31, 2017.

A state-wide fundraising campaign for housing programs in Idaho, Avenues for Hope provides challenge prizes and matching funds to eligible participating organizations. These bonus funds are based on the amount raised by and for the participant. The more we raise, the more we can receive!

In order to help Gateway Habitat continue its current programs and to move forward into the future, would you consider making an end-of-year gift to Gateway Habitat via the Avenues for Hope website?

The direct website address for donations is:

Garfield Lot

Gateway Habitat began our latest project this Fall. The home is a complete rehab of a house built in 1927 located at 658 E Clark Street. The house was donated to our organization by a generous local couple. We will be completely renovating the home starting with a new foundation. The home was lifted with the assistance of Lemons House Moving Services in Idaho Falls. They did a wonderful job and we appreciate their assistance with the foundation work. We will keep you updated as progress continues on this home.

We also want to thank KPVI for their series of stories on the raising and lowering of the Clark Street house.

Gateway HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

The Habitat for Humanity International web site contains more information on Habitat's history, mission, volunteer opportunities and contact information for other Habitat affiliates around the world.

You'll find information about what is going on with other Habitat chapters in Idaho at the Habitat for Humanity Idaho web site.
